  • Selecting The Correct Curt X5 5th Wheel Base Rails Adapter For Curt Double Lock Gooseneck Hitch
  • The Curt X5 5th Wheel Base Rails Adapter # C16210 is only compatible with the original Curt Double Lock Gooseneck trailer hitch, while the Curt X5 5th-Wheel Base Rail Adapter Plate # C16220 fits the new EZr Curt Double Lock Gooseneck trailer hitch. The easiest way to find the one you have is the new EZr uses 5/8" diameter safety chain u-bolts while the original only used 1/2" diameter u-bolts.

  • Comparing the Curt Q20 and Q25 5th Wheel Trailer Hitches for Differences
  • I measured the jaws and on both the Q25 # C16265 and the Q20 # C16130 the thickness of both is 1/2 inch. The differences are most obvious in the vertical load limit and the gross towing weight ratings. I reached out to my contact at Curt and the jaws are identical so the differences are in other metals being a slightly thicker gauge and the leg design. My contact said they are basically the same in the hitch head except for the slightly thicker gauge metal on the Q25 head.

  • Differences Between Full-Metal JackRabbit and JackRabbit Covers for a 2020 Chevy Silverado 3500
  • Thanks for reaching out! The Full-Metal JackRabbit is the upgraded version of the JackRabbit in that the Full-Metal has aluminum panels with a finish on them as opposed to the vinyl bonded to aluminum panels, and then the Full-Metal has silicon hinges that provide a superior seal between the panels, which the standard JackRabbit doesn't have. Both covers are excellent options where ultimately the Full-Metal JackRabbit is just better quality. The correct options for your 2020 Chevy Silverado...

  • Does Demco UMS or Curt PowerRide 5th Wheel Hitch For 2023 Chevy Silverado 3500 Puck Have Better Jaws
  • While both 30k 5th wheel hitches that fit the puck system of your 2023 Chevy Silverado 3500 have high-quality jaw systems, between the Curt PowerRide # C36WR and Demco UMS Double Pivot # DM47GV, the better jaw system is on the latter, the Demco UMS # DM47GV. The reason why the Demco's jaw system is a notch above the Curt's interlocking jaw system is because the Demco's jaw system is reinforced via a 3/4" solid steel bar that locks into place once the jaw is closed. The reinforced jaw system...

  • Is BAKFlip MX4 or F1 Tonneau Cover Better for 5th Wheel on 2022 Chevy Silverado 3500 Short Bed
  • While there are minor differences between the two BAKFlip tonneau covers for your 2022 Chevy Silverado 3500 with a 6-1/2 foot bed, for the purposes of using either cover when towing a 5th wheel, there is no real advantage with either the BAKFlip MX4 Hard Tonneau Cover # BAK448133 or BAKFlip F1 Hard Tonneau Cover # BAK772133. The biggest difference between the two is that the F1 has more robust panels, made out of a reinforced polymer (a type of plastic designed for durability) and measuring...

  • Is It Worth Upgrading To Road Armor Equalizers From Equa-Flex On 2020 Grand Design 310GK 5TH Wheel?
  • The main difference between the Equa-Flex # LC279688 and Road Armor # LC696740 is the placement of the rubber cushions. The Road Armor places the cushions above and below the mounting arm for the shackles while the Equa-Flex only has the cushions on the load side of the mounting arm. This leads to a better ride quality as less shock is transferred through the suspension. Everyone I know who has made this change has been very happy with the Road Armor equalizer. The 4" versus 3-1/2" height...

  • Difference Between 2-1/2 Inch Curt Trailer Hitch C96CR & C15800 For 2021 Chevy Silverado 3500
  • Good question, and the difference is what they fit; the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C15800 is designed to fit cab and chassis frames of not only a Chevy, but also Ram trucks. Cab and chassis frames are much narrower than pickup frames, which is why they are different fits. So if your Silverado 3500 is a cab and chassis, you can use the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C15800. Otherwise, if your '21 Chevy Silverado 3500 is a standard pickup, the correct fit for a 2-1/2 inch hitch is the...

  • TorkLift SuperTruss Hitch Extension for 2019 Chevrolet Silverado With TorkLift SuperHitch
  • There is nothing wrong with opting for the 60" TorkLift SuperTruss Hitch Extension # TLE1560 over the 48" # TLE1548 on your 2019 Chevrolet Silverado, as long as you are staying within the weight ratings for each extension. # TLE1560 Weight capacity when used with SuperHitch Original or Magnum: Maximum gross trailer weight: 5,000 lbs Maximum GTW when used with weight distribution: 10,000 lbs Maximum tongue weight: 500 lbs Maximum TW when used with weight distribution: 1,000 lbs # TLE1548 Weight...

  • What is the Difference Between the Sumo Springs Available for a 2022 Chevy Silverado 3500
  • Yes, there are a several options to add Sumo Springs to your 2022 Chevy Silverado 3500 and you'll generally want to choose based off the weights of the payloads you typically carry in your truck bed or the size of the trailer you're towing. It should be noted that these don't increase the payload or towing capacity, they'll only offer support within the capacities of your Silverado. The SuperSprings Sumo Springs Solo Rear Chevrolet Silverado 3500 Suspension Kit for Trucks # SSR-207-47 are...

  • Difference Between The B&W Companion And Gooseneck Hitch For 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 3500 Short Bed
  • The difference between having a B&W Companion and the B&W Gooseneck is how your trailer will be towed. If you have the B&W Companion OEM 5th Wheel Hitch w/ Slider for Chevy/GMC Towing Prep Package - Dual Jaw - 20K, part # BWRVK3775, your 5th wheel trailer will be using a pin box. Because you will be using the pucks from the OEM prep package, it is easy to remove this 5th wheel hitch when you are not towing the trailer. The B&W Companion slides back 12" when in use to make it easier for...

  • Comparing Dutton-Lainson Single Speed and Two Speed with Hand Brake Winches
  • The main differences between the Dutton-Lainson winches you referenced is that # DL14881 has a hand brake, a drum hub diameter of 1-5/16 inches, and two speeds. The # DL24844 winch is a single speed and has a drum hub diameter of 3-1/8 inches. Because of the lower gear ratios # DL14881 offers, the load would be able to be drawn in quicker than with the gear ratio of # DL24844. The two speed winch would allow you to be able to change the gear ratio for loads of different weights. The handle...

  • Differences Between Curt A30 and PowerRide 5TH Wheel Hitches For 2020 Chevy Silverado 3500 Long Bed
  • The main difference between the Curt A30 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch # C16070 and Curt PowerRide 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch # C36WR for your 2020 Chevrolet Silverado 3500 Long Bed is the Wear Plates # C52WR. These wear plates for the PowerRide remove the need for a Lube Plate # C16722 on the pin box. The handles themselves have different designs but do operate in the same way by moving front to back to actuate the locking jaws on the hitch. Both these 5th wheel hitches are designed to fit the...

  • Comparing the Curt Double Lock/EZr and B&W Turnoverball for a 2020 Chevy Silverado 2500
  • The only difference between the Curt Double Lock Gooseneck Hitch and the Curt EZr Double Lock Gooseneck Hitch is that the EZr has a center locator tool which makes for drilling the hitch ball opening hole much easier. That said, Curt has not released a Double Lock or EZr for the 2020 Chevrolet Silverado 2500. The only gooseneck hitch that has been released as of August 2019 is the B&W Turnoverball Underbed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch part # BWGNRK1020. The B&W Turnoverball is actually a much...

  • Comparing Blue Ox and Equal-i-zer WDHs for 2018 Airstream International Signature 30RB
  • The Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System and Blue Ox SwayPro Weight Distribution System are both excellent options. That said, the Blue Ox system will be less noisy but this is because it has two less points of friction therefore the sway control will be less effective. The Equal-i-zer does have more stress on the frame but not enough to cause an issue. If you want to go with the Blue Ox system then you will need part # BXW1500 but if Equal-i-zer you need part # EQ37140ET. In order...

  • Which SumoSprings Rear Helper Springs Are Best For A 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 3500?
  • As you mentioned not towing all the time, I do not recommend going with the SumoSprings Rebel # SSR-203-47-2. This will be far to heavy duty as is intended more for full time towing or an in-bed camper. Your suspension will end up being affected pretty severely when not under load, so I suggest one of the lower rated options. Specifically the SumoSprings Rebel # SSR-203-40-2. This is also a two piece design, which I do like, is rated up to 3,000 pounds of carrying capacity (at 50% compression)....

  • There are 3 different Timbren jounce-style springs that fit your 2019 Chevy Silverado 3500 and they are all for different applications. Part # TGMFK25D is for your front suspension. Part # TGMRCK25D is for standard duty pickups that do occasional towing. Part # TGMRTT35D is for heavy duty applications like severe service vehicles like tow trucks. All of these are compatible with 2WD or 4WD pickups. I have attached some videos and the installation instructions for you to reference.

  • Comparing B&W and Curt Gooseneck Hitch Kits For In Bed Hitch Prep/Puck On 2022 Chevy Silverado 3500
  • The B&W Ball and Safety Chain Kit # BWGNXA2061 is going to be the kit I recommend. This kit includes a 2-5/16" hitch ball that is rated for 30,000lbs. The reason I prefer this kit is that it has the folding handle that is used to lock the ball in the factory in bed prep/puck system on your 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 3500. This will help keep your hands clean when it is time to remove the ball. The Curt Ball and Safety Chain Loop Kit # C38CR is rated for 38,000lbs of trailer capacity. The...

  • Comparing the B&W Companion and Curt Q20 for a 2019 Chevy Silverado 3500 with Pucks
  • The B&W Companion OEM 5th Wheel Hitch part # BWRVK3700 is a pretty significant upgrade over the Curt Q20 OEM 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch part # C16530-16025. The jaws on the B&W hitch are much thicker than the Curt hitch so they will be more secure and form a tighter grip on the kingpin so there will be less movement which translates to a smoother ride. The handle on the B&W hitch has a cam action whereas the Curt hitch just has a standard action and what this means is that there will be much...
